This Privacy Policy explains how Textymizer.com ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit textymizer.com or download our Software. This Privacy Policy applies globally and is supplemented by mandatory privacy rights applicable in your jurisdiction.

1. Document Content Is Never Collected

Textymizer.com is designed to work entirely offline. When you use the Software to anonymize a document, all processing happens locally on your own computer. We do not access, upload, collect, store, or transmit the content of any document you process. Your files never leave your device.

This Privacy Policy therefore only concerns the limited personal data described below, collected through our website — not the documents you anonymize using the Software.

2. What We Collect

When you download the Free version of Textymizer.com, we ask for your email address before the download starts.

We collect:

  • Email address — provided by you through the download form.
  • IP address — automatically recorded when you submit the download form, used solely to prevent automated abuse and enforce download limits. IP addresses are stored for up to 1 month and are not linked to your email address in our records.
  • Basic technical data processed during bot-prevention checks via Cloudflare Turnstile. Cloudflare acts as a service provider for this purpose; their processing is governed by Cloudflare's own Privacy Policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy).

We do not collect payment information at this stage, as the Free version does not require payment.

3. How We Use Your Email Address

When you submit your email address through the download form, you are required to accept our Terms and Conditions before the download can proceed. You may also separately choose to receive marketing communications by ticking the optional marketing checkbox. These are two distinct actions with different consequences:

  • Accepting the Terms and Conditions is required to download the Software. By doing so, you agree to the terms of use described in our Terms and Conditions.
  • Opting in to marketing communications is entirely optional and independent of the download. If you tick the marketing checkbox, you consent to receive occasional product updates and announcements from Textymizer.com by email.

We use your email address to:

  • Verify your request and let you proceed with downloading the Software immediately (the download starts directly in your browser — we do not email you a download link);
  • Prevent the same email address from downloading the Free version more than once, in order to enforce the limits of the Free version;
  • Send occasional product updates, announcements about new versions (e.g. PDF Only, Polyformatic), and related marketing communications — only if you have ticked the optional marketing checkbox.

We will not use your email address for any purpose beyond what is described here without asking for your consent again.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA and UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we are required under the GDPR (or UK GDPR) to identify a legal basis for each purpose for which we process your personal data:

  • Performance of a service you requested — providing access to the Free version download and verifying your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • Legitimate interest — preventing abuse and enforcing the one-download-per-email limit of the Free version, which is a proportionate measure necessary to operate the service fairly (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR);
  • Consent — sending marketing communications about Textymizer.com products, only if you have ticked the optional marketing checkbox (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw this consent at any time (see Section 5 below).

5. Your Consent and Choices

We only send you marketing communications if you have actively given your consent by ticking the optional marketing checkbox when downloading the Software. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at textymizer@gmail.com with a request to stop receiving marketing communications. We will process your request promptly.

Withdrawing your marketing consent only stops marketing emails — it does not delete your email address from our records, since we still need it for the duplicate-download check described in Section 3. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any use of your data before withdrawal, and will not prevent you from continuing to use the Software you already downloaded.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

Email address — without marketing consent:
We keep your email address for up to 6 months after your download, solely to prevent the same email address from being used to download the Free version more than once. After this period, your email address is automatically deleted from our records.

Email address — with marketing consent:
If you have given your consent to receive marketing communications, we keep your email address for that purpose until you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. Your email address will not be automatically deleted as long as your marketing consent is active.

IP address:
IP addresses recorded during the download process are stored for up to 1 month and are then automatically deleted.

You can ask us to delete your email address at any time by contacting textymizer@gmail.com, subject to Section 5 above.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your email address with service providers who help us operate our website, send emails, or prevent spam/abuse (e.g. our email delivery provider and Cloudflare, for bot protection), strictly to the extent necessary to provide these services. These providers are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

8. Your Rights

Wherever you are located, you have the right to ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct or delete your personal data;
  • Stop or restrict how we use your data;
  • Provide you with a copy of your data in a portable format.

You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 5).

These are not automated, self-service actions — to exercise any of these rights, simply email us at textymizer@gmail.com with your request and the email address you used to download the Software. We will verify your request and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with a data protection authority, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example, under the GDPR). If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comparable privacy law, you have the right to request details of the categories of personal data we have collected and to request deletion of that data, subject to applicable legal exceptions; we do not sell personal data to third parties.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your email address against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Cookies and Website Data

Our website may use minimal technical cookies or similar technologies required for core functionality (such as Cloudflare Turnstile, used to prevent automated abuse of the download form). We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Children's Privacy

Textymizer.com is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
